Whenever new horses or ponies arrive at Lakeside, they are brought to the paddock first. They get to spend some time grazing there in peace. Hannah’s father regards this as very important since it allows the horses to meet and become accustomed to each other, and perhaps even to make friends.
Fun Fact
The entrance gate needs to be closed properly at all times so that the horses don’t escape.
